
Mission statement
1- AfriMark Press is a branch of AfriMark Corporation, a holding company registered under Canadian law, which owns AfriMark Bank, AfriMark Insurance and AfriMark Business, the entrepreneurial section of the holding company.
2- As such, AfriMark Press is a branch of AfriMark Business.
3- AfriMark Press’ mission is to put on the Canadian and world market renowned books or still confidential ones belonging to the humanities: philosophy, literature, sociology, anthropology, psychology, linguistics, religion, economics, general culture.
4- To achieve that goal, AfriMark Press accepts submissions from authors belonging to the above mentioned realm or disciplines for publication purposes. It also reserve keeps the right to decide to offer publication contracts to promising works. Likewise, the company keeps to itself the right to sollicit works that it deems beneficial to the general public and to specific targeted audiences.
5- AfriMark Press, upon receipt of authors' manuscripts, takes care of their review, their proofreading, the graphic design of the final presentation of the work in its printed and digital versions.
6- The company is also responsible for the production and marketing deadlines, thus following the ethical culture in force.
7- AfriMark Press, as a publishing house, does not offer advance royalties to the authors with whom it collaborates. On the other hand, it offers them a percentage of royalties corresponding or superior to those in force in the publishing sector.
8- This remuneration takes into account the various operating costs necessary for the final publication of the work: from proofreading, , the production costs to the advertising campaigns and the distribution costs.
9- In order to give the maximum income to the authors, AfriMark Press does not refrain from any collaboration likely beneficial to this mission. It certainly collaborates with Ingram and Amazon, which are the heavyweight of the distribution industry). To the extent of the terms allowed by these titans, AfriMark Press willingly collaborates with other distributors in the field to ensure the widest possible distribution of the book.
10- AfriMark Press is responsible for the legal deposit of the books it publishes with the various institutions involved in the field of intellectual property and heritage (Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du Québec, Library and Archives Canada, Library of Congress, etc.).
